We all know that direct light from a small source like a camera flash or a strong light creates a hard light that cast shadows or strange highlights on subject’s face.
You need to bounce that source of light on a bigger surface like a wall or an umbrella. Your solution is a studio soft box or a complex set-up which is expensive or you can build your own umbrella.
You will find that your umbrella closes a little bit harder because of the material.
Now redirect your flash on the umbrella surface and it will create a light beam in the opposite direction.Tags: tips
